Fertiliser company Westfert required avery large scale warehouse to take advantage of favourable global conditions in the market. This massive dome was built in Hoopstad and is described as the biggest in the southern hemisphere. The purpose of the ‘inland fertiliser facility’ is storage for various basic granular fertilisers as well as the blending and bagging of fertiliers. With no supporting pillarrs within the structure it can easily fit two Airbus 380s.
